Bowflex M3 Max

Elliptical & Stepper Cross, Designed w/ Air & Magnetic Resistance, Consists of 2 Workout & 2 User Profiles, Has 2 set of Handlebars, Heart-rate Straps Compatible, Designed w/ Bottle & Device Holders | Editor’s Overall Best Choice

Bowflex M3 Max is designed with numerous features that make this elliptical and stepper hybrid a very popular choice. Its standout feature is the combination of magnetic and air resistance. The M3 features a dual-pulley & dual belt-drive mechanism. A metallic flywheel adds magnetic-based resistance to this machine. Using the magnetic-brake system, you will be able to interchange between 8 levels of tension. An enlarged flywheel fan positioned at the bottom left side gives it the resistance-generating capability. This fan starts spinning, as you start pedaling, it results in air current being produced. Hence, sufficient resistance is added with your pedaling motion. The frame is designed using hard-wearing steel, consisting of anti-corrosion paint. For added protection, a vast majority of its exterior is covered in ABS. Having a dimension of 49″x 26″ means it has a significantly small footprint. So, you can accommodate this into a condo or smaller personal gym, with ease. But it is recommended that you keep a minimum of 2’ space all around this unit for uninterrupted access. It may not be large, but weighs significantly at 143 lbs, this offers good stability. You will be able to move this machine around quite easily thanks to the pair of wheels in the front base. There are two sets of handles, one’s static, the other one’s movable. The movable handles are designed with two-long grips, it’ll let you take up various workout postures. It is attached to the pulley and the pedaling system. As for the shorter handles, they have shorter grips. Both sets of handlebars are rubberized to ensure added comfort. Unlike many other ellipticals and cross trainers, the stationary handles do not have integrated pulse sensors, rather, there are heart-rate chest-straps. You can read the pulse on the console. Pedals feature large enough trays consisting of ribbed pattern and added cushioning, this will secure your feet comfortably. These pedals with durable joints can accommodate users weighing a maximum of 300 lbs. The Q-factor on this machine is quite narrow at 1.5”, this will allow in natural positioning of feet. This machine, being a hybrid between a stepper and an elliptical, has a nearly vertical elliptical path with vertical and horizontal settings of 10” and 4”. It’ll work on your glutes and thighs, without putting too much strain on your ankles or knees. Users having a maximum height of 6’8” can use this unit without any trouble.
