Bicycle Selling Statistics in the USA

This statistic shows the bicycle unit sales from the year 1992 to 2015. From this, we can see that in the year 2000, almost 20.9 million bicycles had been sold in the USA which is the highest between 1992 to 2015. From the graph, we can also see that there is no consistency in the selling between the years. The lowest number of bicycles sold was in the year of 1997 in which around 15.2 million bicycles were sold.

Average Annual Expenses on Bicycles in the USA from 2007 to 2016

This statistic represents the average annual expenses on bicycles in the USA from 2007 to 2016. In 2015, the annual expenses were $23.02 per consumer unit which is the highest expenses on bicycles. In the year 2016, the annual expenses were $22.62 per consumer unit. The lowest expenses were in the year 2009 with $13.69.

By analyzing the graph we can say that after the year 2010 the expenditure per consumer drastically increased and from then the change is not big enough for the rest of the years.

Bicycle Sales in China between 2011 and 2015

This statistic represents the bicycle sales in China from 2011 to 2015. The sales amount was highest in the year 2014 and near about 62.11 million bicycles were sold on that year. The lowest amount of Bicycle sold was in the year 2015.

Here we can see from the analysis is that, Although the highest number of Bike sales amount was in the year of 2014, just after that year the sales amount drastically changed. Even the sales amount was the lowest in 2015 for the given 5 years.

Bicycle Sales in Europe between 2000 and 2016

This statistic represents the bicycle sales in Europe (28 EU countries) from 2000 to 2016. In 2016, around 19.6 million bicycles were sold in across Europe. In 2007, the sales amount was the highest. Near about 21.3 million bicycles were sold in across Europe in the year 2007. In 2001, the sales amount was the lowest with an amount of 17.7 million.

By analyzing the graph, we can say that after the year 2003 the number of sales didn’t vary much. It stayed in between 19 million to 21 million sales.

According to statista.com, in 2016, USA imported 66 percent of its imported cycle from China and 27.5 percent imported from Taiwan. So around 93.5 percent bicycles were imported from Taiwan and China.

Bicycle Sales by Bike Category in the USA between 2005 and 2012

This statistic delineates the different types of bicycles sale in the USA from 2005 to 2012. In 2011, 24% Road/700c bicycles were sold of all bikes, 23% were mountain bikes and 20% were Hybrid/cross bicycles.

If we observe the graph very well, we can see that Mountain bike is so much popular in the USA. Because the sale rate of the Mountain bikes is so much high in the comparison of other types of bicycles sale rate.

The popularity of the Hybrid bikes ranges from 14% to 24% from the year 2005 to 2012 which carries a good share of percentages among all the bicycles.

Folding and E-bikes are also becoming popular day by day in the USA.
